DESTINATIONS
Loosely based on a federal bureaucracy's analysis of on-the-job injury and death figures, this week's tour of the World Wide Web takes a look at sites by folks with dangerous jobs. Being that the Internet has become such a hot spot to post resumes and job experiences, this order wasn't too hard to fill. However, should any of the sites listed below vanish unexpectedly - well, you can figure it out.
Fielding's DangerFinder
http://www.fieldingtravel.com/df/dngrjobs.htm
Posted by the publisher of the travel book The World's Most Dangerous
Places, this site explores a number of very macho jobs such as Green Beret,
Navy SEAL, bodyguard, mercenary and - hold your breath - bicycle messenger.
That's no joke. For those interested, the site throws in a list of where
to apply. Should readers care to increase their job- related risk, take
a look at Fielding's Dangerous Places to sign on as bike messenger in,
say, Mogadishu, Somalia.
