Just wanted to know about any unfortunate situations you have come across whilst cycling about.,
I had the misfortune of a car door opening on me on Charlotte Street for the last time! No more Mr Mice Guy! I got up slowly after being coiled around the bike and pretended to look pathetic. Lots of people came to help and act as witnesses if needed. The bloke in the car got out a bit nervous and jumpy and offered to pay damages to the bike, sod the fact that I may be hurt and had a hurt arm and was shaken up at the thought of near death.
After taking the registration number and various details I went to a bike shop I visit sometimes, who kindly wrote up a receipt for me. With no damages to the bike I rang the gent, who worked at a large advertising agency we know and love and produced the receipt that day and collected a cheque for £50 my compensation for the day.
I thought brill, my ship's come in! All in an honest day’s work.
