Moving Target, 1991

... Looks like we're gonna be stuck here the whole summer, well wotta bummer, I can think of a lot worse places to be like down on the streets or down in the sewer or even on the end of a skewer. Curse your luck again cc, why didn't you get it together to get out before the meltdown? By the time you read this the city should be starting to come to life (?) again after the hottest, most polluted summer ever. Whilst temperatures and ozone readings were at an all time high work was at an all time low. The recession has hit media and hard, not that anyone is going to shed a tear over some fat-cat Ad-man going without his Porsche for a while but if all your clients have gone broke it stands to reason that they're not going to be able to pay to send bikes to fetch green top carrots from Horrids Food Hall. The interests rates, business rates and school holidays combined to make it a really slow summer. Slow? It went backwards. Doubtless a few dispatch companies will have changed hands or have disappeared altogether. Lets hope that no cc lets a desperate boss push him or her in to any nonsenses like rate cuts, taking cash jobs away and other such foolishness.
